Market Resolution
Once a market's underlying event has concluded (or the end date has been reached), the market enters the resolution phase.
Oracles
Winnr caters to different market needs, ensuring both speed and accuracy in market resolutions.
Winnr Optimistic Oracle
The oracle is currently in active development.
For complex real-world events that cannot be resolved via simple price feeds, Winnr is developing a native optimistic oracle. This oracle ensures markets are resolved fairly without centralized points of failure.
The optimistic resolution process works as follows:
- Event Occurs: The real-world event takes place.
- Initial Proposal: An initial outcome is proposed to the oracle network.
- Dispute Window: A challenge period begins (e.g., 24-72 hours) during which anyone can dispute the proposed outcome by staking tokens if they believe it is incorrect.
- Finalization:
- If no disputes occur, the proposed outcome becomes final.
- If disputed, the issue is escalated to a wider voting process for a definitive resolution.
Pyth Network
For some price-based markets (e.g., 15-minute markets) where instant resolution is critical for user experience, Winnr integrates with the Pyth Network. Pyth provides high-fidelity, sub-second price feeds, allowing for rapid and definitive resolution of short-term, speed-critical markets.
Payouts & Settlement
Once an oracle (Pyth or the Winnr Oracle) finalizes the outcome, the market is permanently locked and trading ceases.
- Shares of the winning outcome are redeemable for 1 USDC each.
- Shares of the losing outcome become worthless (0 USDC).
Claiming Winnings
Once a market is finalized, you can claim your winnings directly from the market page or your Portfolio dashboard. This will require a transaction signature from your wallet to execute the smart contract function that transfers the USDC to your account.
